Ironman Wisconsin is over. My body is fully recovered (several swims and a massage worked wonders). I ran today for the first time since IM and, aside from the first awkward mile, settled nicely back into the flow.
Our next event is the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 9. I say "we" because a) The Else Family is always a part of this, and b) I am running with five others from Faith Community Church. Together, we are running the race and raising funds to initiate an orphan-care ministry at FCC. Our goal is $10,000.
We are calling this marathOn a mission, and the focus is on finding ways to reach out to at-risk kids locally and around the world through,
Adoption--encouraging and training families to adopt;
Foster care--providing counsel and guidance to families who desire to provide foster care;
Sponsorship--monthly support to orphans in Dominican Republic and Ethiopia;
Encouraging West Chicago kids--through Kids Hope USA and after school ministry.
I'm not a particularly good fund-raiser, so I'm going to make this simple:
Would you please consider a gift to Faith Community Church in support of this endeavor?

THANK YOU!
