Downton Abbey

Yeah, Julie and I are now hooked on the PBS Masterpiece Classics serial Downton Abbey. It is television at its finest. Several episodes in, Julie's favorite character is Anna, the maid, while mine is Mr. Bates, the valet--this is interesting in that there is an obvious, however understated romantic tension between this unlikely pair. Furthermore, Anna is a real beauty (like Julie), while Mr. Bates is old (which is at least how I feel). Of course, I rather doubt Mr. Bates could swim, bike, or run very far. Ah, the British...
